StemCulture’s President, MacArthur fellowship Award, Sally Temple, Ph.D. was recently featured as a guest on The Stem Cell Podcast. Dr. Temple is internationally recognized for her pioneering work on neural stem cells. On the show, Dr. Temple discussed a novel stem cell in the eye that her group recently discovered. They plan to use these cells as a new therapy for macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness. She discusses the process from discovery in the lab, to therapy for patients.
In addition to discussing macular degeneration, Dr. Temple also spoke frankly about the challenges and obstacles that young scientists specifically women face in building a scientific career. It was a great interview and we urge you to take a listen.
