Jeffrey Stern received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from Brandeis University followed by post-doctoral research at Rockefeller University, University College London and the MBL. After research fellowships he obtained an MD degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed an Ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical Center and a Retina Vitreous fellowship at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
Dr. Stern is a retinal surgeon with a private practice in Albany N.Y. In 2005, with his wife Sally Temple, Ph.D., he co-founded the Regenerative Research Foundation/Neural Stem Cell Institute in Rensselaer, N.Y. to focus on stem cell applications for macular degeneration, spinal cord injury and other diseases of the central nervous system. Dr. Stern is the Chief Executive Officer of StemCulture, LLC where he plays an integral role in deciding the directions of the company. Dr. Stern and Dr. Temple are married.
